The interview (A fiction)

                          The interview

"At last the much awaited day is here", she sighed talking to herself. She has been called for an interview by an organization where she applied as a researcher in one of their laboratories. Been a researcher has always been her dream and here she is almost about to get what she had always prayed for.

Earlier prior to her day of interview she had found out about questions she could be asked from one of the workers of the organization and neatly ironed her dress as the instructions given in the messages sent to her email was to dress corporately and come for the interview early.

Before she left home, her mum had prayed for her to passed the interview and get the job so she could only hope for the best.

Luckily for her, she was the third person to arrive at the venue of the interview, she came very early so she had the opportunity to interact with her fellow job seekers who also came for the interview.

After an hour, she was asked to come in by the receptionist. It was an anxious day for her.
"Welcome miss, may i know you", was the first question fired by her employer. She immediately replied tellling him her name, family background, academic qualifications, where she schooled and her achievement all these while.

"Why do you want me  to employ you in this organization", was the second question from her employer. She went on telling him experiences from school starting from her IT programme done at an Agricultural institute and what she had discovered, she also talked about her final year project where she did lots of research in which her supervisor commended her and also publish her research works in the School website. She rounded up the question by telling him various organization she had volunteered and carried out research  which was successful.

"What soft skills do you have?", asked her employer. She replied telling him she possessed team leadership skills, persistent, commitment, writing skills and listening skills.

Her employer nodded after the satisfactory answers from her and she was told she would be contacted if she is considered for the job.

She sighed after closing the door, having mixed feelings about getting the job even though she answered all the questions thrown to her perfectly.

Not until a week later, She saw congratulations message of being a researcher in her email. Indeed she was the happiest person on earth that particular day.
