Basic purposes

Decide for yourself what you believe in, what kind of ideals you have, what higher purposes you admire or wish to live by. Then, make them a central part of your emotional life. Nothing is more important than living by higher or greater purposes in life.

Ultimately, make your highest purpose your last and only resort —the strength to which you return at all times in your life, good or bad, easy or difficult. Your last resort can be your daily resort. Becoming and being a source of love is the most basic purpose of all—one that can provide you with a constant source of strength.
